Edina,

I think you're my new favorite person! Thank you sooo much.

Pomegranate molasses is awesome! I love adding a couple teaspoons of it to bean salads or smoothies. And when I have a hankering for something sweet/sour, I've been known to sneak a couple licks of it.

You lived in Egypt! I suppose you've read by now that I also lived in Egypt (for about a year) and that's also where I learned how to cook. I never had much of an appreciation for food until I went to Egypt and finally decided to learn how to cook at 22 (I'm 25!). When I first got to Egypt, I was still a fairly picky eater, especially about meats. I didn't eat red meat at the time either, but I've loosened up quite a bit since then, obviously!

Do you like mulokhiyya? I long for mulokhiyya, but I can't find the leaves anywhere in SF.

Also, Ramadan mubarak! And I commend your tremendous willpower. I don't know if I could peruse food blogs while fasting.

I can't WAIT to make these! I'm excited to see something new to do with my pomegranate molasses!! I've had it for my Turkish salad...but now for dessert, yeyy!!
Rose, I absolutely LOVE your blog, I've seen a couple others, including ones you've referenced too and yours is the best I've seen! I want to make every dish on here, print them out, and make a recipe book for my kitchen counter! I've started today by printing about 10 or 15 off the site! I especially LOVE the pictures, and the way you've organized the recipes.
I lived in Egypt on and off for 5 years and I've never seen such a great kind of Californiaization of those foods and of those tastes! My husband is Egyptian but there are a LOT of Egyptian dishes I don't like...you seem to have the ones I do like! Like you, I'm not a huge meat eater and in fact I avoid red meat altogether. I had a hard time in Egypt because eating out of the house was a nightmare. In fact I learned to cook in Egypt because of my Mexican, Italian, and Vegetarian food cravings! Right now it is Ramadan and I'm fasting...I am going to spend my days at work browsing your site drooling over your wonderful creations!
